Truck and Minivan Collision at Intersection Injures Two

July 2, 2012 - According to reports two people were injured in a collision at an intersection between a truck and minivan in Anaheim. According to Anaheim Police Sgt. Bob Dunn, officers responded to the scene of the accident at approximately 2:50 p.m. at the intersection of Lincoln Avenue and Rio Vista Street, in Anaheim.

The intersection collision involved a white Ford Aerostar and a red Coca-Cola delivery truck. Anaheim police believe that the Aerostar was traveling south on Rio Vista Street and the truck was traveling west on Lincoln Avenue, when the collision occurred.

Sgt. Dunn said that the preliminary investigation showed the driver of the Aerostar may have run a red light, broad-siding the Coca-Cola truck. The driver of the minivan, identified as a male and a female passenger were transported to UCI Medical Center in Orange with life-threatening injuries, Officer Dunn said.

Officer Dunn said the driver of the truck was not injured in the intersection collision. Portions of Lincoln Avenue and Rio Vista Street were closed while investigators were at the scene of the collision.
