One Person Killed in Truck Crash Hauling “Radioactive” Barrels
May 6, 2012 - According to reports one person was killed in a truck accident, with a truck that was hauling radioactive barrels. According to authorities the accident occurred Sunday night, in the southbound lanes of the I-605 in the vicinity of Katella Avenue and Willow Street off ramp, near Los Alamitos.
Orange County Fire Authority Capt. Marc Stone said the accident occurred when the truck crashed into a tree. Capt. Stone said one person was killed and another person was transported to an area hospital trauma center. The truck was carrying barrels that said they contained radioactive material, Capt. Stone said.
