December 27, 2011 - According to reports by the tow truck accident attorneys at Ehline Law Firm PC, a two year old child was injured when her stroller was struck by a tow truck. According to Placentia Police Department Sgt. Brian Perry the accident occurred at approximately 6:44 p.m. when the mother and two year old girl were crossing Placentia Avenue at Chapman Avenue.
The tow truck struck the stroller the two year old was in on Monday night when the tow truck driver made a turn onto Chapman while traveling northbound. According to Sgt. Perry the tow truck kept traveling northbound until a driver following it stopped the truck.
The driver of the tow truck stated to Placentia police that he was watching an approaching bicyclist and did not see the mother pushing the stroller with the two year old. The two year old girl was transported to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange and treated for multiple bruises. Sgt. Perry stated that the mother and another child were not injured in the accident.

Tanker Truck Catches Fire in Montebello Closes 60 Freeway
December 14, 2011 - According to reports a tanker truck caught fire causing all lanes of the Montebello 60 Freeway to be closed. According to California Highway Patrol Officer Vince Ramirez the tanker truck caught fire at approximately a few minutes after 12:00 p.m. Tuesday under an overpass on State Highway 60.
Officer Ramirez stated an initial call was received at 12:07 p.m. indicating the brakes might be on fire. The tanker truck was found engulfed under an overpass, approximately 10 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles in the eastbound lanes of the Pomona Freeway in Montebello. Officer Ramirez said the tanker truck was the only vehicle involved in the incident.
The driver and passenger escaped the truck without injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol. According to California Highway Patrol Officer Francis Villalobos the 60 Freeway was closed in both directions at approximately 12:10 p.m. at Paramount Boulevard for about two hours.
