Truck Crashes Cause Severe Injuries and Torrance Sees Their Share of Truck Crashes

Truck crashes cause severe injuries and Torrance sees their share of truck crashes, these trucks are known as big rigs and can be a danger to anyone in their path. The reason they can be a danger is the sheer weight of them, because they outweigh passenger cars and pickup trucks by tons. The big rig that has a loaded trailer attached can weigh upwards of twenty-five tons.

The impact of a big rig in a collision with a passenger car will mean the seatbelts and airbags are only able to provide a certain amount of protection from injuries and in many cases these injuries are severe or even fatal for the driver and passengers in a car. The truck accident can be caused by one or more of several reasons, including driver error, driver inexperience, an over tired driver or lack of proper maintenance on the truck.

Being involved in a truck crash can mean injuries that might never completely heal like traumatic brain injuries, broken bones and there can be internal injuries, cuts and gashes. These injuries can take months to heal properly or as well as the injured victim can heal. There are some cases where the truck accident victim will need ongoing medical care the rest of their life, due to the severity of the injuries sustained in the big rig collision.

The injured victim or the family of the victim that was involved in a crash with a big rig, when the truck was at fault is able to hold the truck driver and often the trucking company accountable. The way that the injured victim can hold the driver accountable and the trucking company responsible when they are at fault is with the assistance of the truck accident attorney. This is an attorney that specializes in representing big rig accident victims and knows the laws that protect this victim.

Truck crashes cause severe injuries and Torrance sees their share of truck crashes, just like every other city. Big rigs can lead to serious accidents on the roadways of San Diego and these accidents can mean severe injuries for the driver that is involved in the collision. The big rig outweighs other vehicles on the roadways, which means when there is a collision the driver in the passenger car does not stand a chance.

The accident is going to result in damage to their vehicle and depending on the speed and other factors involved in the collision the driver and any occupants in the passenger car can be severely injured. The seatbelts and airbags that are there for protection in the passenger car will help to some extent, but severe injuries can still be the result when a passenger car and a big rig collide. These injuries can include traumatic brain injuries, broken bones, neck injuries, back injuries, internal injuries and other types of injuries, including gashes. These injuries will require immediate medical care, can mean a lengthy hospital stay, can mean surgeries, therapy, rehabilitation, ongoing medical care and in some cases might never heal. This will mean that the injured victim will not be able to work and they will require time to heal as much as possible.
